Late Monday night Lori, one of our Care Managers, received a call from paramedics at the home of a man who was scared because he woke up and found himself alone. The gentleman’s wife thought it would be a good time to go to the drug store while her husband was sleeping because she knows his dementia causes him to worry a great deal when he is alone. Of course, he woke up while she was gone so he decided to call 911. The paramedics could get little information from him so when they saw a business card from Kathy, another Care Manager, they decided to call our office. Between Lori, Kathy and the paramedics it was determined that the man was not a client of ours. The business card was left in the home by a nurse from a home health agency. She had told the wife that her husband needed more help and Caring would be a good place to call. As a result of the 911 call and our business card being visible we now have this gentleman as a client.
